Karen Brown was raised in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, where her father, an award-winning sailor and competitor, instilled in her a competitive edge and a drive to challenge the status quo that has stayed with her ever since. Her career began not in real estate but in advertising, starting in the Detroit area before a move to Chicago, where she joined J. Walter Thompson, one of the world's largest advertising agencies. She was later promoted to San Francisco, where she would spend the next two decades building her career with the agency. She rose to Senior Vice President at just 30 years old, managing a staff of 30 and overseeing broadcast media strategy for major national clients including Ford, Burger King, Domino's Pizza, and 20th Century Fox. She also founded and served as the first president of Bay Area STAR (Society for Television Advertising and Radio) in San Francisco. While living in Tiburon, California, Karen was deeply involved with the Corinthian Yacht Club, founded in 1886, serving as Membership Chairman and becoming only the third woman in the club's history to serve on its board. In 2000, Karen opened and led J. Walter Thompson's office in Coral Gables, Florida, managing major accounts until the office closed in the wake of 9/11.
That transition south led her to Punta Gorda, where in 2002 she began a new career in real estate. Karen joined Michael Saunders & Company in 2012 and has consistently been the top-producing Realtor® in the Punta Gorda office. She's a $10+ million-dollar producer ranked in the top 2% of Punta Gorda-area Realtors®, specializing in residential sales across Punta Gorda, Charlotte County, and Sarasota County. Her advertising background gives her an edge most agents don't have — she knows how to market a property, not just list it, using drone photography, professional video tours, and strategic pricing and presentation to attract buyers and secure top-dollar, timely sales, alongside Michael Saunders & Company's in-house creative team.

Not sure if the stars aligned or Providence shone down on us, but we were beyond fortunate to find and hire Karen to sell our parents' vacation home in Punta Gorda. Karen is the consummate professional--she knows the market and all the INs and OUTs of selling property--but she is also personable, caring, and committed to providing a first-class experience to her clients. Among other things, Karen smartly recommended a listing price range which resulted in maximum gain for our parents; put together a top-notch listing with drone video and photos; helped us find a great estate sale company; worked with a handyman and others to get the house ready; personally returned the cable box equipment; and generally held our hands remotely (we live in Greater Cincinnati) throughout the process. Bottom line: Karen does whatever it takes to help her clients. If possible, we would give Karen more stars than "Excellent" because she deserves nothing less.
